Meet the Brewers: Rob (Head Brewer), Jack and George!
Rob Pfeiffer
Head Brewer
Rob is a home inspector, musician and beermaker. He learned about beer in college and lived nine years in Wisconsin – nuff said. He’s a longtime homebrewer and says, “Making good beer is a combination of chemistry, physics and art, best combined with friends.”
Jack Wick
Brewer
Jack Wick is one of the founders and owners of Twin Lakes. Jack studied Business and Economics in college but has independently spent a lifetime studying beer. He’s visited over 300 breweries and the Siebel Institute, began homebrewing in 1992 and has been a member of AHA, AOB and IBS. He developed his expertise by brewing often and making many contacts in the close-knit craft brewing industry where brewers are generous in giving time and advice to others. Jack is creative and skillful not only in brewing but in all the mechanical and engineering aspects that keep the brewery running efficiently. Reserved and self-effacing, he nevertheless enjoys sharing his wide knowledge of beer and brewing with anyone who asks.
Sam Hobbs
CEO
Born in 1965, graduated from UC Berkeley in 1988 and an MBA from the University of Cape Town 1994. Worked on Wall Street first as a Short Term Finance Analysts for Kidder Peabody 1988-1990 and next in Morgan Stanley’s IIS department, high net worth brokerage department, as a registered sales assistant for Karl Kreitler 1990-1993 where he regularly traded share blocks in excess of 25 million dollars. After getting his MBA he started Infinity Asset Management 1995-1996 and then gathered assets for Fenestra Asset Management 1997-2000. Upon returning to the USA he has worked for Six Plus, Inc. helping create a diversified equity based hedge fund. In 2003 he founded Twin Lakes Brewing Company.
Matt Day
Sales and Marketing Director
Matt Day is a beer renaissance man of the highest order. Born in the UK but raised in Delaware, he is a beer salesman who introduced the colonies to Bass Ale, as well as to the engineering magic of Guinness Nitro Cans. He was also involved in promoting and introducing Heineken Keg Cans. Matt then broke out of the comfort zone he had created being on the edge of beer packaging technology, and helped found Twin Lakes. Matt truly enjoys extolling the virtues of a fresh, local, delicious brew being crafted on a family farm right in the heart of Greenville. Twin Lakes Beer is unquestionably a hit with our customers. Matt Day is an integral part of that success, being the face of the brand, in his relentless pursuit of new markets and customers for his beer. Most Wednesdays and Saturdays, Matt can be found at the brewery, spinning fresh takes on established history, to intertwine the brewery’s history with that of his adopted country. Soon after brewing operations started, Matt became a U.S. citizen.
Carol Tedesco
Administrator
Does her best to keep the guys and the Brewery straight!
Christopher H. Bell
This Triple-threat player can often be found at the brewery working the taps during the Wednesday and Saturday open house tastings, as well as lending an occasional hand in the kegging process, all the while liberally assisting in the quality control process. He can also be found slinging Twin Lakes at the numerous off-site events the brewery is involved in throughout the year, including Jazz Fest, the Riverfront Blues Fest, and Oktoberfest. As an added value to the team, Chris has been able to call on his vast bar tending experience to instruct other servers on the finer points of pouring drafts from foamy and agitated kegs. It has been calculated that his NTM Ratio(nozzle to mouth) is the quickest in the business, meaning less waiting time for the customer to get their beer from the time it leaves the tap to crossing their lips.

George
George Rudawsky
Brewer
George was the first investor in Twin Lakes. He has believed in its mission and has supported the operation in countless ways. He even helped with the actual building of the brewery! George is a native Delawarean and has been a lifelong friend of Sam, Matt, Jack and Rob.
J. Burke Morrison
Friend and Consultant
Mr. Morrison (Burke to friends and strangers alike) is a 20+ year veteran of the Delaware Alcohol Beverage Industry. Burke is a Brand Manager and Special Events Coordinator for Standard Distributing. Burke is the founder of the “legendary” Burke-and-Stock Beer and Music Festival, which just celebrated its 15th year of bringing great beer and great music together. The last three years of the festival have been held at Twin Lakes to uproarious good times. Burke’s favorite Twin Lakes brew is their classic Tweed’s Tavern Stout!
Enrique Espinosa
Friend of the Brewery
After moving to Wilmington it was just a matter of time before he would stumble upon the brewery during a bicycle ride along the beautiful Route 52. A big fan of exotic beers from around the world, Enrique is proud supporter of his local brewery. The Greenville Pale and Tweed’s Stout are his favorite, “This is the best American craft beer I have ever tasted”, he says, “and it’s made 3 miles from my house! Pinch me, I’m dreaming.”
Bev Zimmermann
Friend of the brewery and former skater on Twin Lakes
One of the 3 blondes at Twin Lakes. Read on to find out who the other two are. Spent many very cold hours during her formative years skating here. Our parents used to drop us off to skate and come back 3 hours later. If the brewery existed back then, who knows if they would have ever come back for us. Went to elementary school across the street at the now defunct Greenville Elementary School. Countless hours during college at the University of Delaware were spent in preparing for this bartending/quality control position, along with many years apprenticing in quality control after graduating. Currently making a living in the Mayor’s Office for the City of Wilmington organizing events that have beer available, and opened the only movie theatre in the State of Delaware with a liquor license, with Twin Lakes on tap there, of course.
Kathy and Ken Zinn
Dedicated volunteers & home brewers
Kathy is blonde #2 and is as knowledgable about beer as her husband Ken. Their kids Melanie and Andrew also volunteer at a number of events. This is a great family to party with!
Liz and Bob Cook
Another couple that’s a volunteer team
Twin Lakes has been able to attract another couple that is knowledgable about beer and spends a lot of time pouring it in the tasting room and at various off-site events. However, their real passion is for a quality product, so they volunteer their time tasting as often as possible in order to ensure that every beer served is suitable for the public.
